Organisations only increase their performance if their learning activity is highly focused on delivering the right interventions to the right people at the right time. At Footprint Group, we help clients achieve just this. Our research into the effectiveness of training interventions has highlighted a number of elements that are critical if you are to deliver a return on your training investment.
Make it Real
The first critical factor is that development programmes should be chosen based on agreed needs – in other words, the individual and their line manager should jointly agree that some development is needed, and most importantly, be able to specify the changes they expect after the development programme.
Our deliver team are not only experts, but they all have extensive real-world experience in their specialist areas. As a result, many of the courses end up as workshops or master classes where real issues can be discussed and advice given.
Our approach to design makes extensive use of case studies that show how new skills can be applied. To give programmes additional focus for your organisation, these can be customised easily to reflect the current challenges that you face.
Make it Accessible
Different people learn different things in different ways. Part of this is suggested by preferred learning styles, but the realities of work and life also dictate the most effective way to access learning. At Footprint Group we are not prescriptive, but work to support your needs in the most effective way:
- E-learning and distance learning
- Performance and Executive Coaching
- Face-to-Face Workshops
- Structure Training Programmes
Effective blended learning means that each intervention will be supported through two or more approaches.
Making the Transition to Work
Our research into the successful implementation of new skills learnt during development programmes identifies that one factor has more of an impact than all of the others combined. During and after the development programme, the individuals line manager must be involved in ensuring that new skills are employed and practiced in the work place. Our programmes therefore extend to supporting this vital part of the learning cycle.
